day nineteen & twenty

CRUISE, I'M COMING!!

we had 6 hours of bus journey to get out of Wuhan for the Three Gorges and cruise.
we had a mini-singing and joke telling session in the bus. Mr teo was kanna sabo-ed by the tour leader to sing song! yes he sang and others too!
this is one of them!
it's so happening during the first part of the journey!!

However everyone still fell aslp after that.

after about 4 hours of ride we alighted near Yichang area and had lunch! very hungry!!

and we continued our journey

notice there's a shape of mr mao zedong lying on top of the mountain? he's head is on the left and legs on the right, see it?
Anyway, some facts about Three Gorges

The Three Gorges region is a scenic area located along the Yangtze river between the cities of Yichang in Chongqing municipality and Hubei province.
The Three Gorges region attracted attention globally due to the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, to control flood.

With that, the dam will also change the scenery of the Three Gorges because it raises the water level, the river will be wider and the mountains will appear lower. Moreover, it caused a mass relocated of towns and villages which were located at the lower part of the mountains (because the houses would be submerged).

the first gorge:

The Three Gorges Project (Dam)

The dam is behind us! (we called it 'dam it!')

'dam it' at the back! the water so scary!
and that's all for friday! after visiting three gorges dam, we went back into our bus and headed to the port to board our cruise!! everyone was tired and can't wait to check into our rooms!
our cruise called '贵妃'
room with 2 single beds

the cruise was not as good as star cruise for sure! although it was smaller and old, they aren't that bad either! at least my room has no cockroach! :)

fyi: i think the whole cruise was occupied by NGEE ANN and very few other tourists. it was that small!

despite being small, they still have a karaok lounge for us! moreover, as it was our first night here, the cruise crew gave us a performance consisted of dancing and singing!! quite entertaining.
halfway thru, we heard that it was about time for the cruise to set off and so we went to the deck! however it was a false alarm and so i suggested to go back to watch the performance.

after we sat back down on our seats, the emcee announced to play game and he's going to pick 2 guys and 2 girls
u know what i'm gonna say next?
YES I'M CHOSEN FOR THE GAME!
how LUCKY CAN I BE to always got chosen for this kind of things! (FYI: it's always me!! alot of times in my life)
i think i'm so gei-kiang (act clever) and shouldn't have come back to the lounge!

we played musical chair and once the music stops, we have to get the thing that the emcee requested from the audience and get the chair.

so the requests were:
  1. slippers

  2. belt
guys are SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW bcos 2 of the guys were out of the game as they couldn't manage to get a seats. LOUSY HAHAA!

and obviously i'm kiasu and fast enough to get the things and managed to get a seat EXCEPT FOR THE THIRD ONE!

to get a 帅哥!

bcos my friend was sitting behind! and i didn't think of getting anybody else
so you know what did the emcee tell me when i couldn't get the seat?

he said i should've get him who was just standing beside the chair!
YES I SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT
hahahha and he's also referring that he's good looking :s

Saturday morning, after breakfast, we transferred from cruise to ferry for sightseeing!

the weather was very cooling!

double twins HAHHA

*actually we wanted to act like we want to jump into the water.

but it looked more like we were shocked to see something in the water

attempt failed!

haha!

FYI2: 峡 (three gorges=三峡) means that the stream were surrounded by 2 sides of mountains. so throughout the cruise we only see mountains and mountains on the left and right!

CHECK THIS COOL KID OUT

these houses were located in the middle of the mountains

i wonder how are they going to leave their house!
so inaccessible!

the ferry took us to this port for water rafting, again
wait, it's not the water rafting that we had before, but was this kind(see below!)!

slow and steady raft

and almost all the rowers were old man!

with very obvious muscular arms and legs

so fit!

their job were not easy, they need alot alot alot of strength to row the sampan.

4 rowers + 2 captains to 15 of us need alot of effort!

Moreover, they still need to get down the water when the sampan get to the very shallow part of the water until the bottom of the sampan reach the rocks on the ground and they have to use their straw line and pull the sampan

tough job right? moreover there were old and skinny (but fit)
finish rafting!

back to ferry!

then back to cruise!

second gorge:

Wu Gorge (巫峡)

we were all gathered at the deck for sightseeing in the afternoon . the cruise crew were explaining some legend thing about the mountain

everyone was so attentive!
but usually i don't really catch what they are sayingg!

Night time!!

third gorge:

QutangGorge (瞿塘峡)

we went on shore at 重庆 to visit the 奉节白帝城景区 which is a historical place for china history.

and the bad thing was, there's few hundred of steps to reach the temple!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

DAMN TIRING!

after decades of years of climbing,
WE REACHED!

i think the one in yellow is liu bei

and the tour guide explain alot of other historical things. as usual i don't really understand!
the place were popular of selling those wooden combs containing some medical element which is good for health. however i heard the tour guide saying that the sellers are over exaggerating about how good are their products. so not reallly worth buying.

i think we just have to be more careful when buying products here.
then back to cruise!

*it's really nice to feel the strong breeze at the deck during midnight when it's very peaceful and u are surrounded by all mountains!
